5G NETWORK COSMOGONIES (2020)

Techno-mythopoeia is an enterprise for tech-narrative demystification and an experimental myth-making practice initiated by Guillemette Legrand and Vincent Thornhill which aims to re-narrate an amalgamated tech-Odyssey from collective imaginaries.

In this performative event, they occupy the space between our fevered anticipation of the next generation global network, and it's yet-to-be realised infrastructure, to allow the participants to collectively techno-mythologise - away from the dominant fictions that currently narrativise the reality of the 5G network. This virtual environment builds on an algorithmic R&D instrument that maps the mytho-ideological density of 5G content, through which its lead narrators have naturalised their existential worldviews. During the event, participants are invited to co-narrate the mythology of a network cosmogony.

The project is an expanding collaboration, currently involving 3D artist Filip Setmanuk, NLP Specialist Joleana Shurley, and sound artist Jim Zweerts.
